How To Avoid Tuberculosis (TB)?
Tuberculosis (TB) is of the genus bacteria called mycobacterium. Although they are quite stable or the resistant type of bacteria, due to the advances in treatment or medicines, Tuberculosis or TB disease couldn’t be labeled deadly if treated promptly and properly.
Tuberculosis (TB) may truly be one of the top cause of death here in the country, but that’s because of improper treatment or because the person did not seek medical help early enough, or was not able to have a tb test. Many of those who succumb to this disease are usually the malnourished or those living in poverty and just ignored and took the tb symptoms for granted.
You get Tuberculosis (TB) if you inhale the TB bacteria which is usually in spit or phlegm of infected people. Unfortunately some people have a bad habit of spitting anywhere, and this is the most frequent way of contaminating people. Some people cough without covering their mouth. When the phlegm dries in the sun, the bacteria still remains, which is blown by wind and subsequently inhaled by susceptible people.
Not everyone however gets infected because they already have antibodies against the bacteria because of either a previous infection or vaccination. If you have had BCG vaccination in your childhood, then you are most likely protected or immune to it. So, you don’t need to worry.
Healthy people don’t easily get infected because they have strong resistance against the disease. So, if you don’t want to get the illness, stay healthy.
