grown-kidSome mothers worry too much about the height of their kids, most especially with boys, but really there is no need to worry about your kids’ height. Some rush into the decision of letting their kids take growth pills or hormones, but this should not be the case. Our kids have their normal body mechanism for growth, and all that we can do is to feed them right, make sure that they get adquate sleep, and get proper exercise.

No pill can guarantee an increase in one’s height, and if there are medications made available, they are usually for those who have hormonal problems. If your kid is normal, there is no need for such. Those growth hormones and pills are usually given to kids and individuals who have cases like dwarfism because they have no growth hormomes at all, and if given to noprmal kids, they might have adverse effects on them.

Height is determined primarily by one’s genes. This means that your children can be anywhere within 20 percent taller or shorter than their parents are. What we mothers can do is simply to give them proper kid of food, a balanced diet. Again, kids who get adequate amount of sleep have a higher percentage of growing because studies shows that the growth hormones are secreted most during sleep.

Don’t feel that height wil measure your kids’ future or success. There are many short people who made it big in the society. Much more important to you is to let your children grow healthy — physically and mentally, with much confidence in themselves and with humility before God. Then you or your children will not have to worry about their height.
