It’s the middle of the week but I prefer to rest today after going out almost everyday since the long weekend. I will resume with the normal days tomorrow after I am well-rested. I just don’t want to compromise my health most especially because I easily get tired lately. According to my doctor, I should avoid being so active and workaholic. He always remind me not to push my body beyond its limit and to rest in between daily strenuous activities. So, it’s a rest day on a Wednesday for me, while hubby is working on something, and the kids are off to their normal daily routines.

Shopping wasn’t really stressful at all, in fact, it is more like an anti-stress activity for me. It’s fun! I also love going out and spending time with my mom husband and kids, but I guess the only thing that is tiring the walking part, especially when malling, but everything else is perfect. I look forward to our next ultimate family bonding this Christmas holidays, and while resting, I’ll make the most out of my time to think of what to prepare for Christmas.

My son took us out for dinner today. I actually told him that we can just buy food and then cook a special dinner at home. I was thinking about how much we would be able to save, but he insisted on us dining out for a change. Besides, he isn’t home most of the time, most especially now that he needs to live on his own. He said, he doesn’t want me to get tired cooking and preparing dinner. He wanted me to just sit back and relax, order my favorite food and have a great night. What a sweet boy! So much like his father.

I’m happy and grateful of the long weekend because from Friday night until tonight, I got to spend it with my whole family. Both my son and eldest daughter filed for a vacation leave for one day to extend the long weekend, and it ends today. The past four days has been full of fun and enjoyment. Tomorrow, my eldest will have work again, the little one got school, and my son’s flight is early this morning, and he will return back to his own place and do his own thing, and will be back on Christmas eve.

Our next family bonding and dining out would be on the Christmas holidays, but we are planning to go to the beach since my son won’t probably be home this summer. His next vacation after this Christmas will be December next year, because he will likely go to UK before summer ends this year. So, for the entire year next year, he will be far from us. I am missing him already. I’ll make sure that we will all have a great Christmas this year.

My kids love pets, and so do I. My husband also happened to be a pet-lover since he was a kid. So, when we moved to our new house, we adopted our family pet dog and cat, and we consider them as a part of our family.

There are many significance in adopting a family pet dog or cat. Adopting a family pet can be a fantastic way to reduce our every day stresses and anxieties. Plus, there are numerous other reasons why adopting a family pet dog or cat can be significant in your lives.

Pets can help us to unwind and help us to focus on the great things in our personal lives and family. It is not just for families but as well as individuals, both young and old, having a pet can be very helpful when we are feeling down, frustrated, or overwhelmed by the anxieties and stresses of our jobs, and other situations and happenings in this world.

It is proven how playing with our family pets can help reduce anxieties in any situation, and even cast away our fears and sadness because they have this kind of healing magic. Pets can make us happy, and busy in a good and fun way. Playing with pets is a very effective means of getingt our minds off of our problems. Studies shows that a person with a pet is less prone to hypertension and heart attack compared to those who doesn’t have one. A person can do many things with their pet or other animals that will give them a different perspective on things. And simple things like walking the dog or running with your dog at the park motivates you to exercise regularly.

Pets are already part of our family. Spending time with our pets, playing catch, or running around the garden, is a fun activity for the kids. I have also noticed how effectively it can reduce their loneliness and even become a trusted companion and bestfriend for my son. Whenever he gets frustarted, playing with his pet makes him feel better. It is also common for people to treat their pets like their confidants. Talking to their pets and sharing their problems and worries that they cannot share with other people, help them get their problems out and express their emotions without holding back. Pets, especially dogs, are also very reliable when it comes to keeping our family safe at all times. They have a strong sense for danger, and they are great guards. While cats are sweet and cuddly, and they are usually the most preferred pets for little girls.

Pets are faithful and will never leave your side no matter what, unlike people who are there for you through the good times, but leave you alone in bad times. Pets are not only a great addition to our family. By adopting a family pet dog or cat, you are saving a life of an animal that could very well become your whole family’s best friend. A pet cat or dog will love you unconditionally for the rest of his or her lifetime for as long as you treat them right, with love and care.

At home, I make sure that my kids do their individual and group tasks, to teach them how to be responsible. Training can start as early as possible, not to get them used to doing tasks, rather, to help them develop their whole being. Other parents tend to be overprotective of their kids, and most of them don’t realize the importance of letting their little ones do their little chores to help develop their skills and character.

There are just some things to consider when assigning chores to your kids, make sure that they are capable of doing it, and it is suitable for their age and body frame, and will not strain or injure them in any way. And also make sure that you are around to guide them, and watch them while doing their tasks, especially for the young ones. You can also do group tasks as a family, which gives you ample time to bond and interact with each other.

Chores don’t have to be tiring or stressful for little kids, parents can also make them enjoyable, foster development, and boost a kid’s self esteem. A kid begins to develop their self-image at the early stages of their lives. The more you prepare them up for success, the higher impression they will have of themselves. Teaching them that being responsible can be a fun and rewarding experience is a lesson that can stick and they can carry with them for the remainder of their lifetime.

The most essential thing about teaching a kid how to do chores is making sure that it will be a fun experience for them and that the task is not too difficult or frustrating. Praise them for completing each chore they successfully completed, but still commend them for the effort they have exerted, even if they are unsuccessful with the given task. Teaching them to be proud of the things that they are doing right, this will help them to realize that everything isn’t always easy, but one can still try, practice, and eventually perfect their tasks and routines.

Try to get them to do tasks that requires fine movements, this will help in the fine motor skills development of your child. Fine motor skills are esential for kids to be able to write, draw, tie shoes, pull zippers, and more. Numerous parents forget to spend some time focusing on fine motor skills, primarily because of fear in small children choking risks. But the best thing you can do is to guide your kid in fulfilling chores with little objects. Chores as easy as assisting you in cleaning up the cereal that spilled or simply having them manipulate smaller knobs or buttons on your activity desk. Things like picking up tiny objects and coloring are examples of good fine motor skill activities.

Gross motor skills involve using the larger muscle groups. Your little ones needs to develop their muscles to attain the balance necessary for walking, running, jumping and climbing. However, always consider your kid’s safety first. Simple things like asking them to help you clean up and carry large toys, fold towels or their tiny clothes. During playtime you can let him jump in your lap, or climb up in piles of pillows up to the bed. Try to discover new ways for your child to integrate gross motor skills into his playtime, little tasks, and chore time.

Your kid’s physical health and development depends on how much practice they get with these skills daily, whether during playtime or doing chores. The best way to be hands-on and make sure that they are able to practice their skills every day is to let them help you out with little things and tasks around the house that they are capable of doing. Simple as it seems, but it will be helping them develop their cognitive, social and language skills.

To make the learning and development even more fun and exciting for your youngster, you can also buy them educational toys that are designed to promote development. Toys that helps build their physical, social and emotional skills.

For me, one of the most essential abilities of a wise mom is knowing how to cook. What is the importance of a mom with knows how to cook? How does home-made food differ from ready to eat food you buy from a fastfood or restaurant? Pretty simple, at home, you get to choose the right ingredients, and you are sure that you are feeding your family with healthy and nutritious food, while food at restaurants and fastfood chains are usually unhealthy and have many added preservatives.

If you happen to be one of those who eat fast food every day for lunch, try to start having it just every other day. When you begin by taking little steps of stopping to eat fastfood, it does not appear like you are reducing out all of the foods you enjoy and you can start taking your time to study how to cook and learn about healthy foods which, you and your whole family can love equally as well.

Living is a bliss when you are free of illnesses and you and your entire family can savour an better life style. Proper diet together with regular good exercise can help keep many diseases away. If the body acquires the appropriate nourishment, it is best for the immune system as it strengthens to fight infections and free radicals in the body. When your immune system is healthy, you recover faster whenever you get sick.compared to those who have low resistance.

As a wise mom, learn how to cok at home. Home made food allows for a better control of the food that your kids consume. You can reduce the consumption of trans fat, sugar, salt, and many another food additives, that are deemed unhealthy for our body. Commercially prepared foods like hot dogs, french fries, hamburgers, chips, cakes, etc are probably the greatest source of trans fats in our diet. It is better to make your own pizzas, icecream, burgers, cakes and other sweets and things your kids and entire family likes. It takes some time, and requires a lot of effort — but worthy enough knowing your whole family is eating healthy food.

You can choose to cook and use organically produced ingredients that are as fresh and locally available you can get without excessive expense or trouble. Organic products are recommended because they are naturally grown and do not have pesticides or other harmful chemicals sprayed on.

Home cooking also offers a more relaxed atmosphere for a family’s meal. It can also be a bonding activity for you and your husband as well as kids, and the happiness it brings is priceless. Home cooking do not cost as much as when you are always eating out, so you get to save on your family’s budget. So for all moms out there, try to practice or learn how to cook at home, and see what wonders it can do to you and your family’s health.

One of the greatest things that could happen to a family is having a new baby. Everyone gets that certain feeling of thrill and excitement. The joy of welcoming a new being in this world comes is hard to define. So, how else will you celebrate the arrival of the newest member of the family? But of course, by organizing a baby shower party where everyone can attend.
Organizing and planning a baby shower can be very fun. You can create your own perfect baby shower party as you wish and choose whatever theme you want. Unleash the creative soul in you. The main goal is simply to hold a memorable baby shower that would be fun for everyone.
Plan ahead of time and prepare all the essential things for the baby shower, such as invitations, the menu. The best time to hold baby showers is either on the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. Therefore, on the sixth month, you and your friends can start preparing for the event, and sending out invitations to make sure that everyone you plan to invite will be able to reserve that date and adjusrt their schedules ahead.
Look for a perfect place to hold the party, but if you are short on the budget — there would be no other place more perfect that youw own home, after all, a baby shower is a family event. You can choose your home backyard or garden as your event area.
Think of the most perfect theme that would suit your baby’s gender. Say for example; pink colors for a baby girl and blue for a baby boy. There are numerous baby shower themes that you can select from. The most popular choices are teddies, cartoon themes, or balloons. So many perfect ideas, and it would be more exciting if you let your husband be a part of the planning and decision making. Both your parents and your hubby’s parents can also share their ideas.
Then for the party, to make it more fun and interactive, it could be the perfect time to choose your baby’s name, and everyone can make their suggestions. Have fun games and and great food of course! Make it not only memorable for your family, but as well as the visitors. You can have baby shower giveaways.

The Beauty of being a MOM cannot be surpassed by anything. Being a mom is both a pleasant and challenging life-time event. Once a woman becomes a mother, it never stops at giving birth, it is everlasting. Motherhood can help one find humor out of anything whether is being soiled by your baby or urinated on, your youngester saying that his tummy hurts because he has “tummy monsters” or realizing you haven’t done your hair for sometime. Some women are afraid of it, but if you embrace it, you will realize that being a mom can be the happiest days of your life. You don’t get paid from being a mother but you have the power to recreate and bring new life to this world. You get the chance to witness a baby grown, from inside of you, and grow into a responsible, happy and successful adult. There is no other feeling similar to that of the maternal impulse. Therefore, all you moms to-be out there, prepare yourselves for the adventure and experience of a lifetime!

Being a mom makes you learn a lot of things everyday, you make mistakes, sometimes things could get difficult, and you may laugh or cry. But don’t be anxious about having to raise a part of yourself. It is crazy how some believe that bearing a child is the end of their lives but actually, what they fail to see is that, it is a new beginning. Motherhood does not mean completely saying goodbye to your career or social life, rather you might learn that the old and the new you, when integrated, could create — the ideal person whom you have always wanted to become. And you also learn to balance things, and manage your time efficiently. Being a mom gives you the power to become your little one’s heroine and protector, and it gives you the chance to mold a person’s life and character. Your baby is an extention of yourself — your own flesh and blood brought to life.

Motherhood is your time to discover new and fresh ways to raise a healthy, sound-minded soul. Prepare for your new role, read books about motherhood, learn new things like potty training, and all the How To’s when it comes to taking care of a helpless infant, to a toddler, until your child grows into an adolescent and reaches adulthood ready to face the world on his or her own, carrying the lessons in life that you have imparted.

A child’s character is developed at home, the family plays the important role in molding his morals, most especially moms who spend the most time with the little kids. Toddlers are very curious by nature, and they tend to look at everything that is going on their surroundings. However as parents you hold the responsibility to look after them as they begin to explore their world and be the one to place limits on how much they can do. As a parent, you set limits to what your toddlers can do. You do not simply let them grow up as responsible kids, it is necessary that you impose rules they need to follow, and to have respect for you as their parents, as well as to other elders around them.

Wise mom tips in imposing disciplinary rules for your toddlers:

Always keep communication lines open – Regardless what your toddlers may do, always be open to discuss situations with them. You should be that someone whom they feel they could trust and would prefer to turn to whenever they feel something wrong or if there is something obscure to them. Make your toddlers feel that they can ask you about anything they want to know. This is also a great way for you to gain their trust and confidence.

Implement Time-Outs – Instead of spanking or shouting at your toddler if they did something bad, a time-out is often more effective. It requires communication and taking away something that is important to them, like say for instance, do not allow them to go out, watch tv, or lessen their playtime — which then becomes their punishment for doing something wrong. Having a time out also help in making your child understand much better the principle behind getting punished. This is also an efficient means for them to avoid doing the same mistake again because they would not like to be punished.

Use distractions – Remember the fact that it is still toddlers that you are still dealing with, and one of the frequent roadblocks you might experience with them is that they would barely mind what you have to say. Hence, if the situation is non-major anyhow, you can simply determine a means to distract them from getting all cranky or from doing something nasty. Distract their attention with something productive that they can do and will surely be interested with, making them forget about doing bad things.

Be consistent -When you set limits and rules to your youngster, constantly make sure that they are followed systematically and consistently. For instance, if he or she is not permitted to play outside when it rains hard then make sure that rule will get implemented and never gets broken. Your youngster should realize that rules are rules and they are not made to be broken. As a parent, you should also serve as a model of the rules that is being implemented at home.

Consider your child’s stress levels – Sometimes, toddlers are inclined to become short-tempered and may have tantrums whenever they are tired or hungry. Therefore, if you are going to the shopping mall or somewhere like the park, make sure that you bring something to eat along that the kids will enjoy, a bottle of water, and make sure that they get enough time for sitting down to rest, in between playing. Overdoing things could cause stress, remember that their tiny bodies can only endure so much.

Teaching your kids the lesson of having self-discipline can be an easy task. The most essential thing is that you establish a good parent-child relationship, and know them personally, so you can successfully set ground rules that is most suitable for them.

In today’s technology-driven world, less focus is being aimed on the importance of reading books to children. Finding children book choices and reading to kids is important now if the children are to train them to have long-term passion for reading in the future. Children books and reading are a vital factor for brain development too; the more a youngster reads, the simpler it is to learn fresh material and to assimilate it into his or her learning.

Book reading is definitely an important factor in each child’s life. Book reading opens up new doors for children letting them to explore different regions of the world, fresh ideas, new concepts, different cultures, and new-sprung innovations. Reading to children when they are young inculcates the joy of discovery in children and encourages children to want to learn and/or to read more in later years. Children books are filled with wondrous tales, characters, and adventures: these are memories that children will have for the rest of their life-time.

Book reading teaches children how to perform new things, how to deal with life situations, how to develop ethics, and how to forever remain curious about the world. Parents that are reading to kids are feeding their children a vital educational food since a long-term love of reading can make the child’s life more successful, bright, and full. While it is justified that the Internet is turning into a learning resource for children, it is equally true that a good reading ability is necessary to really harness the educational offerings on the Internet. Hence, book reading should come first, and an appreciation of the Internet and technology should come.

Children books are affordable, and a visit to the public library can lead access to a free book to read, so in that respect, there is no reason why parents should not be reading books to children. It is possible to get a children book title right online as well; there are numerous free classical children books online which can be read directly from the internet site or which can be downloaded into an eBook reader for reading enjoyment. However, nothing beats the moment when parents share quality time with their children reading to kids in person. The act of reading to children becomes a way to develop a good parent child relationship while at the same time promoting a love of reading.

Some mothers worry too much about the height of their kids, most especially with boys, but really there is no need to worry about your kids’ height. Some rush into the decision of letting their kids take growth pills or hormones, but this should not be the case. Our kids have their normal body mechanism for growth, and all that we can do is to feed them right, make sure that they get adquate sleep, and get proper exercise.

No pill can guarantee an increase in one’s height, and if there are medications made available, they are usually for those who have hormonal problems. If your kid is normal, there is no need for such. Those growth hormones and pills are usually given to kids and individuals who have cases like dwarfism because they have no growth hormomes at all, and if given to noprmal kids, they might have adverse effects on them.

Height is determined primarily by one’s genes. This means that your children can be anywhere within 20 percent taller or shorter than their parents are. What we mothers can do is simply to give them proper kid of food, a balanced diet. Again, kids who get adequate amount of sleep have a higher percentage of growing because studies shows that the growth hormones are secreted most during sleep.

Don’t feel that height wil measure your kids’ future or success. There are many short people who made it big in the society. Much more important to you is to let your children grow healthy — physically and mentally, with much confidence in themselves and with humility before God. Then you or your children will not have to worry about their height.
