Sports also help in developing the character of our kids. They learn the basic values of teamwork at home, but they will get to take it to a higher level by getting involved in sports. They also learn some important values like friendship, sportsmanship, and how to be flexible. They get motivated to work harder, develop their talents,  seliminates, concentration, and most of all, they strive hard and learn to give their best to win.<br />
Through sports, our kids learn to accept that life isn&#8217;t all about winning, and realize that losing or failure does not mean the end of the world. They learn to train and strive even harder to do better, and aspire for even higher goals while keeping their feet on the ground.<br />

<p style="text-align: justify;">Let us discuss nutrition first. A balanced diet must include all the nutrients essential for a healthy body. This includes carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals. With carbohydrates, we &#8220;go&#8221;, with proteins, we &#8220;grow&#8221;, and with vitamins and minerals, we &#8220;glow&#8221;.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Avoid junk foods. They are loaded with food additives, flavors, enhancers, colors, and preservatives that are very harmful to the body. Most of these substances are excitotoxins that cause tumors, cancers, and many diseases that can hasten old age, and eventually death.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Eat fruits, grains, nuts and vegetable. They are complete with all the nutrients needed by the body. Plant proteins are light and are easily digested and assimilated by the body. Fruits, grains, nuts, and vegetables have phytochemicals that have healing powers. Almost all fruits grains, nuts, and vegetables have antioxidants that can prevent and protect the body from the harmful effects of pollution and stress which can hasten premature aging.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Eat three square meals a day.There should be no meals in between. You can skip dinner, or even lunch, but never your breakfast. Skipping breakfast makes one fat and obese.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Chew your food well. Eat less and do not overindulge. Practice temperance. Whatever is in excess is not good for the body.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Avoid sugar and all confectionery products. It destroys the brain and the nervous system, especially the memory.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Avoid tobacco, coffee, soft drinks, liquor, and other alcoholic drinks. These are all  substances that overstimulate the brain and the nervous system. Tobacco has nicotine, and cigarette has hundreds of toxic substances, 22 of which are proven carcinogens.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Except for fruit and vegetable juices, do not drink water during meals. They should be taken an hour after meals or between meals. Drink fruit and vegetable juices. They cure a lot of diseases including cancer. Fruit and vegetable juices are the elixirs of youth.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Have a regular exercise in the open air free from pollution, and under the invigorating heat of the morning sunlight. This is very beneficial to the body. It reduces bad cholesterol, and increases the good cholesterol in the body. The fresh air and the sunlight are good for blood circulation, and is an excellent blood toner.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Take time to rest. It is very essential for body repair and rejuvenation. Go to bed at least 2 hours before midnight to be able to avail the best effects of a very sound sleep. Have at least 6 to 8 hours sleep every day. Do not oversleep. It is not good for the body.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Physical exercise is very important for a healthy body. To stay healthy and fit, we need to exercise regularly.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Most people believe that exercise and work are the same. They believe that if they exert effort, flex their muscles during work, it is already an exercise. But exercise and work are not the same thing. Although both expend energy, exercise has an element of pleasure. When you work,  you become tired, the same as when you exercise. But in exercise, there is a sense of pleasure and leisure, and this what makes exercise more beneficial than work. It is this sense of pleasure that adds to the benefits of a physical exercise.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Exercise is very important to everybody. Moderate and vigorous exercises can  reduce bad cholesterol levels in the body to prevent heart failures and strokes. Exercise promotes good blood circulation, and is therefore very beneficial for all the organs of the body. It helps in the removal of wastes and toxins in the body through perspiration.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">A good exercise need not be strenuous. Brisk walking for 30 minutes three to four times a week can give the body a rejuvenation equivalent to ten years. Exercise improves the tones of the muscles, and makes them stronger and firm. It increases the efficiency of the heart to pump more blood to all parts of the body. Exercise also improves digestion, and normalizes bowel movement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Exercise is good for the lung, allowing it to process more air with less effort, and increases oxygen consumption by body cells. It enables a cheerful quality to the mind,  and strengthens the will. Exercise promotes a restful sleep at night, a good mind to think better, and restores energy and vitality to perform more efficiently during the day.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Exercise increases the pumping efficiency of the heart. It can prevent heart failures, and other diseases, especially in the elderly when done consistently in moderation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Other health benefits of exercise are:</p>

<li>strengthens the involuntary muscles, such as those of the stomach and intestinal canal</li>
<li>relieves painful menstruation</li>
<li>helps children to grow</li>

I wish I was also good at it, but since I wasn&#8217;t, I told myself that someday when I get to have kids, I will enroll them in different sports clinics every summer, which I did.</p>

If you fond of taking time to sit on your favorite couch munching some junk foods while watching your favorite shows or a movie for hours, better replace it with physical activities you love to do like playing a sport with your family or friends. Smoking, drinking alcohol and soda, and lack of rest should be considered too aside from change in diet and having time for exercise.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is so easy to consume 1,000 calories everyday than to burn calories that we do not need, right? Our choice of food and the amount of food we eat matters a lot in having those love handles. Junk foods, fast food meals, fatty foods, white breads, ice cream, cookies, cakes, and other refined and processed foods are culprit why you have those love handles. Why not take in food that are easy to digest, low in calories and is high in nutrients like fruits, vegetables, and whole wheat breads instead of those food I mentioned above? Of course, you need to consider the amount of food you eat as well.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Lack of physical activity could slow your metabolism so take time to exercise. Exercise could burn your extra calories, and could improve your physical and mental health. For you to get the best result, it is best to combine a muscle-building exercise and aerobic exercise. You can do it without going to the gym of course. Squats and pushups are examples of muscle-building exercises while jogging and swimming are great example of aerobic exercises. Taking time to drink at least 8 glasses of water to hydrate your body plays a big role too for you to lose those love handles.</p>

But, some parents prefer their kids to behave in front of their television set or in a computer while munching some fries or any other junk foods rather than letting them play, and run to and fro because of the fear that they might hurt themselves. Sorry to say this but such kind of parents for me is selfish, they just care about themselves, not their little kids.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Strenuous physical activities and, or exercise could improve your child&#8217;s quality of life, in what way? It could strengthen their bones, will help a lot for them to stay in shape and in the right weight, will release happy hormones making your child more optimistic and have a happy aura always, and it could boost mental functioning too.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Letting your child be involved in simple games for children at the park with his playmates will not just offer fun and excitement to your child but could boost physical, mental, and social development as well.  It would be best if you let your child be involved in sports for kids too. Let your child choose the sport he wants to be involved. But, see to it that your kid is in a team that offers seliminates training and encouragement to children than competition.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Social interaction, discipline and self-control, self confidence, and sportsmanship aside from physical activity are some of the lessons children will learn if you let your kids join sports activities. But, if your child is still young as 5-7 years old, be patient enough because kids of that age want to do their best, but they care more about having a chance to play than they do about winning.</p>
